I am on my way to Sanctuaire Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré, a thirty-minute drive from my Airbnb. I am thrilled to have the chance to visit this basilica. Ever since I saw a photo of it on the web, my curiosity has sparked my interest in seeing it with my own eyes.
As I turn right onto Royale Avenue, the view of the top of Sanctuaire Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré comes into view. Boy, this is huge!
Oh my goodness! What an incredible structure! It is like one giant statue. The details that are carved into the white stone are beyond amazing. I stand for a while, gazing at every detail my eyes can absorb. I can't even comprehend the work that went into this creation.
Yes, this is a pure art creation, a work of many people working together to achieve perfection.
I am still in a state of admiration when I struggle to open the massive door. The slow motion of the door opening feels like preparation for what my eyes are about to see.

I am in total awe of the inside decor of this basilica. The intricate details of the mosaic are out of this world stunning. It is almost impossible to understand the time and effort it took to create this artwork (53 years).
The stained glass windows are another feature that mesmerizes my eyes. The sunlight brings each window to life, adding magic to this space.
My faith is in the spiritual path. I am not religious in any way. I find my God in nature. I respect any faith as long as it doesn't hurt anyone. However, it is impossible not to feel a strong sense of faith and holiness under this roof.

I take Marie Claude's recommendation and continue my drive north to Plage de Baie-Saint-Paul Beach, which is located on the west side of the river. It is a quiet beach with a quaint town—perfect for enjoying ice cream!
Tomorrow, I will explore other little towns on the east side of the river before heading to New Brunswick's province.
